Lots of Glitter

We experimented tonight with glitter on a Valentine craft project I found online. Making Valentine cards using cookie cutters, glue, and glitter. Isaac did great! We both enjoyed it. A little ways into it he informed me he did use glitter at school....which i knew that was right and just forgot. Before we were done...he had opened what was left of one of the tubes of glitter and poured it on his shirt/pants. I'm surprised that that surprised me. :-) I'll get it all vaccuumed up tomorrow. No worries.....it was a fun, useful project and we still have a few weeks before the V day to practice some of the letters of his name....to maybe add to the cards.

Izy has been a little sniffly and coughing the past few days and seems to be worse tonight. He acted like he felt ok....and i kept asking him if he could breathe out of his nose. He kept saying yes..like i was crazy or something for asking. Thinking we may need more than just benadryl now though.

We always 'talk' when we lay down for bed. There has not been one night i bet in the past year or longer where Isaac hasn't said he wanted to talk or can we talk or let's talk or we're going to talk, etc... Really what he means is that he wants me to talk to him. He will answer questions, etc.... But i have to be the driver....which is fine. Usually i'm sooo tired. BUT...it is really too sweet that he wants to do this. We usually talk about what we did that day or what we're going to do the next day or anything upcoming or things like that. Tonight though I gave him a quiz on states....because earlier in the night when we were crafting and watching American Idol he heard Ryan say 'Tennessee'. And he looked at me and said...'Tennessee.....that's where Haley lives'. Haley is a new friend of his. Aunt Heather's niece...whom Isaac played with just one evening......before Christmas.....but he talks about her often. It's really sweet. He knew we lived in Arkansas and Aunt Marty lived in Texas. I had to remind him Ruth & Izzy lived in Arizona and Susan & Teo lived in New Mexico. For some reason he is obsessed with Utah. I have no idea why. He always mentions Utah when he sees a map of the US or states are mentioned or anything that reminds him of it. I don't know where he ever even heard of Utah. I don't think i ever mentioned it. Not sure if he heard it at school or something and maybe just likes the way it sounds or something. Was trying to explain the difference...well...not really the difference in town/state.....just that we live in AR, but we also live in a town within. Sometimes I hear myself saying these things to Izy and i am like yeah...right. I'm not even convincing myself that what i'm saying makes sense...how is my 3 year old going to get that. Oh well....again......that's just more of us 'talking' before we go nite nite. :-)

Finished product....

TOT

Isaac has been doing a program at school called Teams of Tomorrow (TOT). It's a program where the kiddos learn different basketball skills, motor development, etc... It's incorporated with music and different educational material. Tonight was the big performance at the Greenbrier gym. The first of their two performances this year. Back in August when i heard they would be performing at halftime of a basketball game.....i honestly couldn't picture my little 3 year old doing it....let alone even getting out on the court. BUT.....nervous and excited as he was...he did it!!! Isaac was out there with all the other little kiddos. They all did soooo good. Such a fun and entertaining show for all who were there to watch. Isaac mostly just stood or sat there on his red dot. But here and there he did a few of the tricks. Nonetheless.....I was so happy to see him out there! And was a fun evening!

Pictures of performance didn't turn out at all really.

But got this cute one after the performance.

And at Moo Moo's afterwards with his sweet little friend Lily. They've been friends at daycare since they were a year old. Here they are watching video of the big performance! :-)

And a trip to Moo Moo's wouldn't be complete without a horse ride.

Short weekends and sweet little boy

Why is it that the weekends always seem so short?! We had a nice weekend....but was just way too short. Didn't get to sleep in Saturday morning as i was so hoping. Did a very little bit of house work. Then a few games and a craft project. Next a birthday party to go to and grocery shopping. Isaac can now say he is not scared of anything at the Jump Zone. He has mastered all bouncy houses....the last being the mighty octopus (ship). He went down it 3 times! Sunday morning we actually made it church in Atkins and on-time. I was so proud of Isaac. This was the first week of religion classes/sunday school at church, and he let me leave his classroom immediately after start time and stayed in there the whole time without me having to be there with him! That's huge! Next week may be a different story...but i am hopeful and thinking this was the biggie. Now he knows he can do it and I think he did enjoy his class!

This little boy is all-boy....so was kinda funny when Kiddieville printed me off a picture of Isaac on Friday dressing up in a dress at school. My sweet boy. Is it possible for him to get sweeter every day?! (Oh...he's still 3 and we still have our moments....but the sweetness far outweighs THE MOMENTS). Now he has started this thing where when he wants something....he says...in the sweetest voice. PLEEEASSSSSE mommy.....PLEEEAASSSEE.......PRETTY PLEASSSSSEEE......WITH SUGAR ON TOP. (course i know where he's heard that) But is sooo much sweeter sounding coming from my sweet little boy than when i say it to him. That definitely puts a big smile in my heart. And so many other things he does and says. As he talks about daily, he's almost 4. He can't wait to reach that milestone so he can chew gum. (that's just what i told him way back when....and he accepted it....so i stuck with it. i know everyone else is already chewing gum and has been for a long while) But 4....that seems crazy to me that it's even possible for my Izy Bug to be that old. I want to just bottle up some of his sweetness and laughs and giggles and tight tight hugs and sweet kisses. :-)

Our saturday craft project - twizzler/cheerio bracelet.

Creating his masterpiece :-)

Welcome 2011

Wow...didn't think I would be able to post something on the first day of the new year. But the blog is up. Still a work in progress...but nonetheless is up. Wish I had someone that was really good at this kind of thing to set it all the way up for me. Oh well. -)

This year as with all other years I have the typical resolutions such as to lose weight. Maybe/hopefully this year I'll actually be able to accomplish that. But had a few other important ones this year as well. Jog(slowly) a 5k before i turn 40. YIKES! Get more organized. The new blog is a result of the getting more organized one i think. Hoping this will help in some way and that i can post at least a few times per week. Isaac does and says the funniest things and thinking maybe if i can jot them down here at least i won't forget. And lastly (but not really last) do more fun and quality things with my Izy boy!

Hope you'll check in from time to time and visit our blog.

Happy New Year 2011!

Why is it that when i say open your eyes he always seems to do the opposite.
